inclusive
we are the chalfont saints
Chalfont Saints Inclusive Football Club, based in Chalfont St. Peter, is more than just a sports club; it’s a welcoming community that champions accessibility and inclusivity in football. Recognised as the Berks & Bucks Club of the Year, Chalfont Saints stands out for its commitment to creating an environment where everyone is welcome. Serving families across the Chalfonts, Slough, High Wycombe, Gerrards Cross, Chesham, Amersham, Maidenhead, Beaconsfield, Stoke Poges, and Farnham Common, the club opens its doors every Saturday — rain or shine — to young people aged 4-18 with disabilities or Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as to siblings of SEN children. The club offers free, year-round training led by FA-qualified coaches who bring both award-winning experience and a genuine passion for empowering every participant. Each session is designed to be fun, engaging, and supportive, providing players with the opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of a team environment.
As part of an award-winning club, Chalfont Saints Inclusive Football has created a vibrant community that values encouragement, empathy, and mutual support. Coaches and families work together to foster an atmosphere where each player can thrive, both on and off the pitch. This inclusive environment allows players to progress at their own pace, while feeling supported by peers and mentors who understand the importance of respect and adaptability in sport. Chalfont Saints stands as a shining example of how inclusive sport can positively impact young people, offering them not only physical activity but also friendship, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging.

Each week, more young people join, creating lasting friendships and a shared sense of pride in their achievements, both big and small. This ever-expanding network of players, families, and coaches reinforces the club’s mission to provide a safe, fun, and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy the beautiful game together.
Be part of something special
At Chalfont Saints Inclusive Football Club, we warmly welcome every child, whether they’re eager to jump in or prefer to observe. Our sessions are designed to be flexible and respectful of each child’s comfort level, with no pressure to participate fully if they're not ready. Coaches and volunteers encourage children to join at their own pace, ensuring everyone feels included and valued, whether they're actively involved in drills or simply enjoying the atmosphere from the sidelines.
the coaches
Coach Frank — Frank has been a cornerstone of Chalfont Saints for over 15 years, sharing his passion for the game with players of all ages. A UEFA C-qualified coach, Frank was asked by the club to establish the inclusive team—a challenge he embraced wholeheartedly, despite having little experience with SEN players at the time. What began over six years ago with just five players has since grown into a thriving group of more than 90 players across three age divisions.
Frank firmly believes that football is for everyone and that any barriers to playing can be overcome with the right support. His dedication to making the game accessible has created a welcoming environment where everyone has the chance to take part, grow, and have fun. The friendships that have blossomed among players and parents are what Frank values most, and he’s proud to see such a strong, inclusive community develop around these sessions.
Beyond coaching, Frank is passionate about developing future coaches. He encourages dedicated parents and players to pursue their coaching badges, not only to enhance the player experience but to keep fostering a spirit of inclusivity. His leadership and belief in empowering others continue to shape the culture of Chalfont Saints, inspiring players and families alike.
Coach Gav — Gav is a dynamic presence at Chalfont Saints Inclusive Football, where he leads the Senior Squad with energy and dedication. By weekday, he’s a University Lecturer in Cyber Security and Resilience and a Qualified Private Investigator, but on weekends, he steps onto the field as a Level 1 FA-qualified football coach. Seven years ago, Gav went from being a dedicated parent to a co-opted founder and coach at the club, driven by his enthusiasm for the game and his specific passion for goalkeeping—a position that suits his own vibrant and eccentric personality.
Known for his exceptional communication skills, mentorship, and strategic insights, Coach Gav is focused on helping players aged 16-25 develop teamwork and tactical skills. He has a talent for finding each player’s strengths and creating ideal positional roles that foster cooperation and trust. His commitment to the sport and his players has earned him the title of FA Berks and Bucks Disability Group Coach of the Year 2022, a testament to his impact on the inclusive football community.
Coach Emily — Emily has been part of the coaching team at Chalfont Saints since 2019, and it’s been an incredible journey for her. It all began when her son joined the group, and she loved watching him participate in the sessions. After just a few weeks, she found herself getting involved, even though she hadn’t played football before. The sessions were so welcoming and fun that, with encouragement from Coach Frank, Emily decided to take the FA Playmaker course. Once she completed that, she went on to earn her FA Level One coaching badge, and she’s never looked back.
With 16 years of professional experience working with children with SEND, Emily feels she brings a unique level of support to the inclusive sessions. Her dedication and impact haven’t gone unnoticed; in 2024, Emily was honored with the BBFA Coach of the Year Disability Pathway Award, a testament to her exceptional commitment to inclusive football. Saturday mornings are a highlight of her week, both as a coach and a parent. Since Coach Frank started the group in 2018, it has grown from strength to strength, creating not only a football team but a true community where players, parents, and carers support one another.
In her sessions, Emily aims to create a safe, flexible, and fun environment where every player feels like part of the team. Whether someone wants to run around, enjoy the fresh air, score goals, or learn new skills, the sessions are adapted to meet each player's needs. Whatever their “goal,” Emily, along with the entire coaching team and fellow parents, is there to support and encourage every step of the way, helping players reach their full potential.
